The original log cabin was built after WWI, by the Matkin family, who homestead 480 acres. We added on in the seventies and again in 2000. The new addition features four rooms with private baths, hand-peeled logs, solar electricity, and a collection of kerosene lamps. The nearest neighbor is over a mile away. Wildlife are common in the area, especially birds and deer. The rooms are large, each with a bay window view of the Rocky Mountains. The commons area has room to seat 10 people at the breakfast table, or weather permitting, you can eat on the deck. There is a sitting area with a bay window and propane fire place. There is a large, roofed front porch and a grove of trees with a hammock. You can raid the garden in season.

For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. We also have craft booths, commercial booths and lots of great food. There will be a horseshoe tournament as well as our famous raffle.
