Blue Island

Blue Island, established in 1835 as a way station for Chicago travelers on the historic Vincennes Trail, is located in northeastern Illinois in Cook County on the Chicago city limits. Its past is a reflection of growth and evolution in that early industries revolved around the production and processing of food (including 4 German-founded brewries) and building materials. Today, the major employers are in the service and retail businesses.

Area recreation includes an opportunity for golfers to enjoy the challenge of Meadows Golf Club of Blue Island.
