Buffalo Grove is located in northeastern Illinois straddling the
Lake County/
Cook County line just north of
Arlington Heights along Highway 83 west of the
Des Plaines River.
Recreation in the area includes getting in a round of golf at Arboretum Golf Club. Other activities around town include the Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival featuring over 150 artists and is usually held the last weekend in July.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 41,857, an increase of 5,440 since 1990.
