Burr Ridge is located in northeastern Illinois southwest of
Chicago on the
DuPage County/
Cook County line near the
Interstate 55/
Interstate 294 interchange.
The town was incorporated in 1956 in what was then a largely rural area. Its name is taken from the burr oak tree and its leaf is now the town's symbol. Burr Ridge is counted among the 300 wealthiest communities in the U.S.
