The Chautauqua National Wildlife Refuge is located in central Illinois in
Mason County about 35 miles southwest of
Peoria and just north of
Havana. Some of the greatest concentrations of wild ducks and geese along the
Illinois River can be observed each fall and winter at the Refuge.
