Du Quoin is located in southern Illinois in
Perry County about 30 miles southwest of
Mt. Vernon between
Pinckneyville and
Murphysboro along U.S. Highway 51 about 15 miles west-southwest of
Rend Lake. The town serves as the headquarters for the 1,400-acre Illinois State Fairgrounds.
