El Paso is located in central Illinois in eastern
Woodford County along SR 251 just east of
Interstate 39. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,517, an increase of 18 since 1990.
Noted Americans from El Paso include Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen who was born here in 1895 and went on to become one of the best known spokesmen in the Roman Catholic Church.
