Eureka is located in central Illinois in
Woodford County (of which it is the county seat) about 15 miles east of
Peoria along U.S. 24. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 4,591, an increase of 137 since 1990.
Area recreational pursuits include outings to Kaufman Park Golf Course. In addition, the Ronald Reagan Museum is open for tours.
The town is home to Eureka College for those seeking education beyond the high school level.
