Frankfort is located in northeastern Illinois in Will County about 10 miles east-southeast of Joliet. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 10,123, an increase of 2,943 since 1990.Local events include the "Frankfort Fall Festival" which is held on Labor Day weekend. From its small-town beginnings, the Festival now draws crafters from about 25 states and is ranked among the top 200 shows nationwide.
