Gibson Woods is located in the Northeast Illinois in Warren County. The course is a treasure tucked quietly back in the woods on the edge of the city. It is an 18-hole, par 71 course that is as challenging as any in the area. The men's tees are rated at 70.9 with a slope of 119 while ladies play to a rating of 73.4 and a slope of 114.
From dawn to dusk, mid-March to early November, all 6,500 yards of the tree-lined, meticulously manicured course come alive with serious golfers from around the Midwest. The golf pros at Gibson describe it as a "target-style" golf course with numerous challenging doglegs and fast, small greens. The best part of Gibson Woods, though, is that the greens fees are a mere fraction of what the fees are at other courses in the state and the wait for a tee off time is almost nonexistent.
