The world-famous Art Institute of Chicago was founded in 1866 and is located in Cook County, IL. They have an enrollment of about 2,000 and student housing is available for 195.
U.S. News and World Report ranked their graduate program in the area of fine art and design number one in the nation. The bachelor program ranked number two.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)is awarded in Visual and Critical Studies; Studio; Art History, Theory, and Criticism and with an Emphasis in Art Education. The Bachelor of Interior Architecture (BIA) is also awarded.
The MFA is granted in Studio and in Writing while the MA is granted in Modern Art History, Theory, and Criticism; Art Education; Teaching; Art Therapy; Arts Administration and Historic Preservation.
