Lisle is located in northeastern Illinois in
DuPage County just west of
Chicago between
Downers Grove and
Naperville along Highway 53 near the
DuPage River. Recreation in the area includes an opportunity for golfers to get in a quick 9 or a full 18 holes at the
River Bend Golf Course.
One of the highlights of summer is the "Lisle Balloon Skies"--a fund-raising event whereby 100 30- x 18-inch polystyrene "balloons" are purchased, decorated and displayed with category winners. There is also a "search" to see who can locate all 100 balloons. At summer's end, the balloons are auctioned off as collector's items.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 20,820, an increase of 1,236 since 1990.
