Machesney Park is located in the Northern Tier in central
Winnebago County just northwest of
Rockford along the banks of the
Rock River about 10 miles south of the Wisconsin border. Outdoor lovers enjoy their outings to nearby
Rock Cut State Park, located about 10 miles to the east.
One of the highlights of summer is the annual "Rockin' Rib Fest"--a sanctioned cookoff--usually held the last full weekend in July. Proceeds go to a different local charity each year and the winners advance to the National Finals held in Kansas City.
