SFWA currently winters nearly 100,000 of the 850,000 Canada geese that spend the cold-weather months in Illinois. Numerous shallow sloughs and other water areas provide ideal habitat and are scattered throughout its 2,800 acres which is located in southern Illinois about 8 miles southwest of Jonesboro
on Highway 3.
