Warren County Pioneer Cemetary

Owned originally by Daniel McNeil, the first resident of Monmouth, this cemetary is the oldest free public burial ground in Warren County. It was founded in 1833 and used until November of 1861. A truly historic site, the Pioneer Cemetary is the final resting place for relatives of Wyatt Earp (a Monmouth native) and several soldiers who fought in the War of 1812, The Black Hawk War (1832), and the Civil War. A complete list of those buried can be found in the county Public Library.
