Bluffton is located in Wells County (of which it is the county seat) south of Fort Wayne at the junction of Highways 1 and 124 on the banks of the Wabash River near Huntington Lake. Not far from the Ohio/Indiana border.

Bluffton is part of the Fort Wayne, Indiana metro area.
