Jamestown is located in Boone County west of Indianapolis along Highway 136 near Interstate 74. Jamestown, affectionately known as Jimtown to longtime residents, is positioned in the south part of Jackson Township on the Boone and Hendricks County Lines. Jamestown is the oldest town in Boone County, and was reportedly named after co-founder, James Matlock.
