On November 2, 1905, the doors of Fulton County's first hospital opened for the purpose of "administering medical and surgical aid to all who desired hospital care." Known as "The Woodlawn," it was situated in a beautiful grove of stately oaks and maples with an abundance of lawn. There have been two new Woodlawns in Rochester, Indiana in the 95-plus years since that day. Dedicated in 1979, the present Woodlawn sits serenely on 33 wooded acres which can be viewed from every patient room. The hospital's first floor houses cardiopulmonary and emergency services, in addition to administrative and support services. The second floor, providing 49 all private rooms, offers the maximum in personal and professional care to their patients.
