Metamora Indiana

Metamora is located in Franklin County south of Connersville along US Highway 52 near the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site. Not far from the Ohio/Indiana border.

Metamora was founded in 1838 by David Mount and William Holland. The last platting was by John McWhorter in 1853. The settlement did not grow beyond this last platting and was never incorporated.

Metamora offers many delights such as stone ground grain at the gristmill, short train rides, canal boat rides through the last wooden aqueduct in the U.S., horse drawn buggy rides, shopping at the unique specialty shops, and eating at one of the delicious restaurants. At the end of the day spend the night in one of the charming Bed & Breakfasts or Inns.
