Wyandotte Caves |
Wyandotte Caves offers six different tours. There is a short, 1/2 mile, 30-45 minute tour through the surface cave known as Little Wyandotte. This tour gives a comprehensive impression of southern Indiana's famous limestone cave formations. Big Wyandotte, located just 700 feet north of Little Wyandotte, has one of the largest known mountains of any known cave in the US. A 1 1/2 mile, 2-hour tour features well-preserved helictites which are rare, twisted formations. No strenuous walking or crawling is required in the lighted passageways. Reservations must be made for a guided 3, 5 or 7 hour tour. These tours offer serious spelunkers a real challenge with several long crawls and some climbing. Lights and helmets are provided, as are lockers and shower facilities.
