The purpose of First Baptist Church is to maintain the worship of God, study and practice the Christian life as found in the scriptures, seek to bring to bear upon the life of the society the teachings of Jesus, and promote and advance the kingdom of God throughout the earth. The church is affiliated with the Bethel Baptist Association, the American Baptist Churches of Indiana, and the American Baptist Churches of USA. It operates children's, youth, music, and other ministries. Women's Bible study is featured each Monday. Sunday worship services are also offered. Additional worship experiences throughout the year include periodic Sunday evening services, Maundy Thursday service, and an early morning Easter service.
