Ardfert is probably Kerry's most important ecclesiastical site. St. Brendan the navigator founded a monastery in the 6th century. There are 3 medieval churches, an ogham stone. The earliest building is the Cathedral, which dates from the 12th-17th century. It has a fine Romanesque west doorway, a magnificent 13th century east window and a spectacular row of nine lancets in the south wall. Open from early May to late October. Tel.
