Cobh

Formerly Queenstown

Cobh in County Cork occupies a strategic location overlooking Cork Harbour. An insignificant fishing village until the 19th century, the town was visited by Queen Victoria and renamed Queenstown in her honor. It became an important port of call for transatlantic liners and was the last port of call for the ill-fated Titanic.
