Search Dublin

The turbulent history of medieval Dublin comes to life here from the arrival of Strongbow and the Anglo-Normans in 1170, to the burning of the monasteries by Henry VIII in 1540. A self-guided tour through life-size tableaux, audio-visual and inter-active displays recreates the bustling life of the inhabitants of this medieval city. Displays include a model of the medieval city, interactive medieval fair and reconstructions of the principal historical events of the period. Linked to Christ Church Cathedral, Dvblinia is located in the medieval city close to the site of the Wood Quay excavations of the 1970's. Over 200 of the artefacts from that excavation are on display here. Adult: IR3.95 Child: IR3.00
