Visiting Grey Abbey is an excursion into a world of tranquility. Surrounded by an 18th century parkland at one end of Greyabbey village, the 12th century church and cloister of a Cistercian monastery looks impressive. The monks were self-sufficient, farming their estate and the herbal medicines from their garden would have been used for animals as well as people. Guide and exhibition on site.
