Population: (2000) 75. Elevation: 2,065 feet. Located in Rush County, on State Hwy-96. about 15 miles southwest of La Crosse. Walnut Creek, the primary tributary to the Arkansas River runs past the town.
The town was named for Alexander Caldwell, one of the leading financiers and bankers of Kansas.
