The population of Axtell is about 470. The town is located in the eastern part of
Marshall County, in Northeast Kansas. Axtell is located approximately 10 miles south of the Nebraska State Line and 89 miles west of
St Joseph, Mo. and about 1/2 mile from the
Nemaha County line. They are two miles north of U.S. Highway 36 on KS 110.
Seneca is 10 miles east of the Axtell Junction (US 36 & KS 110) and
Marysville is 20 miles west of the Axtell Junction. The economy is agricultural related. Farming is a REAL part of their life-style. Farmers are a resilient group of individual - able to rebound from difficulties, yet full of hope and dreams for the future. Their people are like that; not afraid to reach for the future.
