Heimhof Winery and Gift Shop

Opened in 1992, Heimhof Winery is Leavenworth County's first licensed winery and the oldest operating winery in the State of Kansas. The winery is especially noted for its white wines crafted in the German tradition; they range from a dry Riesling to a very sweet Beerenauslese style. The red wines include Cabernet Sauvignon, High Prairie Red, and Autumn Red. It also features two delicious blush wines. The unique A-frame cellar and gift shop sits just off a portion of the old Santa Fe Trail. The gift shop and tasting room are open for sales Tuesday through Sunday. A pavilion and barbeque grill are available for picnics, parties, weddings, receptions, and other events, while the vine-covered gazebo affords another spot for sipping wine in a tranquil, pastoral setting. Live music is available for special occasions.
