Coffeyville Kansas

Founded in the fall of 1869 and the largest city in Montgomery County. Pop.(2000) 11,021 Elev. 224 meters (735 feet). Located in the Southeast Region of the state, and is between Tyro and Valeda and along Hwy-166 near Montgomery State Fishing Lake and the Verdigris River. Attractions include; Brown Mansion, Dalton Defenders Museum and the Old Condon Bank.

Four railroads converged at this pointthe Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe, the Missouri, Kansas & Texas, the Missouri Pacific, and the St. Louis & San Francisco. Coffeeville is also rich in natural gas resources, producing signifigant income and employment for the county.
