Founded in 1884, Coldwater is located in
Comanche County, (And is the County Seat), in the
Southwest Region of the state. The Pop. is: 792 & Elev.: 2112. The nearest rivers are the
Cimarron, Bluff and
Arkansas River. The communities showpiece is Lake Coldwater, a 250 acre man made lake in a 930 acre park within the city limits. Lake Coldwater is the only city, county, or state lake in southwest Kansas that permits water-related sports. Activities may include:boating, swimming, fishing, bird watching and camping and picnicking.
Coldwater is the quintissential mid-western town. While small, it provides a full range of services. The Come on home festival is held anually; AUG. 29-31.
