Located in the
Southwest Region of the state, in
Hodgeman County, (County Seat). North of
Dodge City on US Hwy-283 and State Hwy-156. The nearest river is the Pawnee.
The geography is hilly in this area. One of the interesting facets of this community is the use of limestone building construction. There are several excellent examples, some of which were built in the 19th century. The local Haun Museum is remarkable in its representations of life in this area.
Attractions include: 9-hole golf course, Municipal swimming pool, a municipal lake. Hunting for quail, pheasant, deer and wild turkey is common. Guided hunts are also available in season. A city library, two parks and the Jetmore Motorplex, a NCRA certified dirt racing track.
