Post Rock Capital of Kansas

Founded: 1870, Population (year 2000): 1,349, Elevation: 1418 ft. Named for the 16th US President, Lincoln is located in Lincoln County, of which it is the county seat. Lincoln is nestled between rolling hills with a commanding overlook of the Saline River and southeast of Wilson Lake. Easy to find, Lincoln is on I-70, between Exits 209 & 216. The post rock buildings in downtown Lincoln are beautiful. The county courthouse was built in 1900 out of local limestone.

In 1886 the Union Pacific Railroad built a branch line called the Salina, Lincoln and Northwestern Railroad, and the citizens had an outlet to Eastern markets.
