Osawatomie

Founded in 1854, Osawatomie has a population of 4,645, (2000) and an elevation of 865 feet. Located in Miami County, it is the second largest community in that county and is southeast of Lawrence. Situated on the banks of the Marais des Cygnes River and near Miami State Lake & Park. The town is southwest of Paola. Osawatomie is part of the Kansas City, Missouri-Kansas metro area.
