The small community of Perry is at the juncture of the Kansas River and Delaware River. Perry Lake is the major attraction in this area. One of the area highlights is the July 4 Perry Lake Dam Fireworks display.
Kansas' first settlement was established in 1827 in Jefferson County by Major Daniel M. Boone, son of the famous frontiersman.
