Founded: 1869, Population: (2000) 312, Elevation: 950 feet. This town is on Hwy 105 in Woodson County. Located on the Verdigris River at the junction of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe and the Missouri Pacific railroads. Only 14 miles from Yates Center, the county seat.

Three state parks and two rivers nearby make for many recreational activities in this area. Cross Timbers State Park, (On Toranto Lake) and Fall River State Park where visitors may enjoy Camping, boating, fishing, trails.
