University of Kansas SICILLUM UNIVERSITATIS KANSIENSIS

The largest university in the state, the UK occupies a 1000-acre campus with almost 200 buildings. Atop historic Mount Oread in Lawrence, KS. UK serves as a major comprehensive research and teaching institution as well as a center for learning, scholarship, and creative endeavor. It draws more out-of-state students than any other institution of higher education in Kansas. There are almost 17,000 full-time undergraduates in addition to about 8500 graduate students. Participates in intercollegiate sports at the NCAA Division I level.

The University is the only Kansas Regents university to hold membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU), a select group of 58 public and private research universities that represents excellence in graduate and professional education and the highest achievements in research internationally.
