Located in the Northwest Region of the state and exists in Cheyenne County, Rawlins County, Decatur County, Norton County, Phillips County, Sherman County, Thomas County and a smal portion of Sheridan County.

There are eight rivers in this drainage basin; Republican River; Little Beaver River; South Fork of the Beaver; Upper Sappa River; Beaver River; Lower Sappa River and Prairie Dog River. The general flow of these rivers is northeasterly.

Drainage Area: 582.8 square miles. Designated Uses: Special Aquatic Life Support, Primary Contact Recreation, Domestic Water Supply; Food Procurement; Ground Water Recharge; Industrial Water Supply Use; Irrigation Use; Livestock Watering use for Main Stem Segments.
