This circa 1860s mansion was remodeled in 1903 in the Classical Revival style. Restored to its late-19th century grandeur, the house now serves as a state welcome center, symbolizing Kentucky's location as a gateway to the South and offering visitors a glimpse of Kentucky history. It contains a collection of Vice President Alben Barkley's memorabilia, including the first U.S. vice presidential flag. Guided tours are offered by appointment only. Welcome center is open daily 24 hours.
