This is the site of a prehistoric Indian village of the Mississippian tradition that existed between approximately 1000 and 1400 AD; archaeologists have unearthed a burial mound, home sites and temple mounds. The site features a study area and museum that are run by Murray State University; interpretive exhibits in the three open excavation areas illustrating prehistoric Indian life and explaining archaeological methods.
Open daily March through November. Tours and group rates are offered by arrangement.
