Gretna

Gretna is located in Jefferson Parish (of which it is the parish seat) on the southern city limits of New Orleans, between Westwego and Chalmette along Business Route Hwy 90 on the banks of the Mississippi River near Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Salvador.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 16,569, a decrease of 639 since 1990.
