Also a bird sanctuary, Jungle Gardens was developed by the late Edward Avery McIlheny. Enormous flocks of herons and egrets rest here and can be seen most often in the early spring and summer. Also protected are ducks and other wild fowl in the winter. The Chinese Garden contains a Buddha dating back to 1000 AD.
