The LSU/WSTRMC Acute Psychiatric Unit admits adult males and females, 18 years of age or older, who are referred through the Region IX Single Point of Entry. This is a closed ward with a brief length of stay serving those consumers who are in a psychiatric emergency and in need of stabilization.

After discharge A multi-disciplinary clinical team follows high risk, chronic consumers, who can benefit from support and re-habilitation, as they become re-established into the community and the continuum of care.
