Womans Hospital

In 1968, Woman's Hospital opened its doors, becoming one of the first women's specialty hospitals in the nation. Today, their hospital delivers more than 7,000 babies each year making it the 16th largest delivery service in the country and the largest in Louisiana. In addition, the hospital performs more than 7,000 surgeries, 40,000 mammograms, and 80,000 Pap tests on an annual basis.

Area women have the highest regard for Woman's Hospital and consider it to be the preferred provider of health care services for women. It has the strongest overall image of any hospital in the greater Baton Rouge area. Woman's Hospital is nationally known for its innovative services for women in all stages of life. In 1999, Woman's Hospital was recognized as a recipient of the Top 100 Hospitals: Regional Benchmarks for Success award.
