The New Orleans Museum of Art, founded in the 1920s, has a magnificent permanent collection of more than 40,000 objects, valued in excess of $200 million. Though there are many, many items of note, one of the most fascinating of the permanent exhibits is a collection of work by Peter Carl Faberg, the master jeweler to the last czars of Russia.
