Rebel State Historic Site |
This area is dedicated to Louisiana folk music. Rebel traces its origins back to Civil War days. Set in the piney hills of Northwest Louisiana, this 46-acre site contains the Louisiana Country Music Museum, an amphitheater, a pavilion, picnic areas and restrooms. The museum contains exhibits that tell the story of the development of folk music traditions in the region-from early gospel and string band music to country music today.
The Fiddling Championship and musical events featuring local as well as nationally known country music acts throughout the year attracts increasing numbers of visitors.
