West Monroe is located in Ouachita Parish within the Sportsman's Paradise Region, between Monroe between Ruston and along Interstate 20 on the banks of the Ouachita River near Cheniere Brake. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 13,901, a decrease of 195 since 1990.
