The commune of Bourscheid, population 1,133, is located in north central Luxembourg along the
Sure River. Bourscheid is noted for its Castle Ruins and Museum, on a hilltop overlooking the Sure 450 feet below. The castle has several parts. An 11th century keep lies in ruins. A mansion dating from the 14th-18th centuries was once a ruin, but it was restored in 1972 and now houses the museum, with exhibits dedicated to the history and archaeology of the site.
