The commune of Grevenmacher, population 3,733, is a large wine country town located in the Moselle River Valley, on Luxembourgs border with Germany. It is the economic center of the Moselle winemaking industry, a government-subsidized initiative dating back to 1890.

Pieces of Grevenmachers 13th century fortifications, pulled down on the orders of Louis XIV of France, are still preserved and may be toured.

The N1 roadway terminates in Grevenmacher and the N10 passes through along the riverfront.
