Cape Museum of Fine Arts

Founded in 1981 by a group of artists, the museum focuses on the works of artists who have been influenced by the Cape and Islands environment, its people, and the interactive exchange of artistic ideas. Among those so influenced are Charles Hawthorne, Thomas Hart Benton, Childe Hassam, Hans Hofmann, Robert Motherwell, Pauline Palmer, Franz Kline, Allen Whiting, Jan Collins Selman, and Red Grooms, and many more.
