Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary

This is the largest of the Massachusetts Audubon Society's sanctuaries, covering approximately 2,800 acres. Visitors can canoe along the eight miles of the Ipswich River that run through the sanctuary and camp on Perkins Island, located a half-mile up the river, or hike the ten miles of marked trails across the sanctuary. The sanctuary offers an excellent opportunity for viewing wildlife in its natural habitat.
